What is the Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra?

The Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra is the current flagship of the Freo line and a robot vacuum and mop with a fully automatic all-in-one base. Instead of a single mop roller, Narwal uses two rotating Reuleaux-triangle mop pads whose extendable EdgeReach™ arm reaches into 0 mm gaps along edges and corners. Powering it is 18,000 Pa of suction and the NarMind™ Pro autonomous system: two 136° RGB cameras and two AI chips (4 TOPS) detect over 200 object types to 5 mm accuracy according to the manufacturer – cables, shoes or toys are reliably avoided, and the robot keeps a 150 mm distance from pets. This is the device's core claim: it decides in real time whether to vacuum or mop, raises the mop by 12 mm on carpets, boosts suction there by 160 % and cleans wet and dry mess with separate systems. Maintenance is minimal: the base empties the robot's bin into a 2.5 litre dust bag (up to 120 days), doses detergent itself and washes the mops with water up to 75 °C before drying them with hot air. The 6,400 mAh battery runs for around 120 minutes of combined vacuum-and-mop or up to 200 minutes of mopping only. That makes the Freo Z10 Ultra especially interesting for homes with pets or long hair – the SGS-certified DualFlow anti-tangle system keeps the brush and roller largely free.

The Freo Z10 Ultra is the current flagship of Narwal's Freo Z10 line. Narwal became known above all for its self-cleaning mop pads, and in this model it combines very strong suction with the new EdgeReach™ mop module for the first time: an extendable arm that pushes the rotating Reuleaux mops into the very last corner. If you search for "Narwal Freo" you will also come across the Freo Z Ultra, Freo Z10 Pro and Freo 20 – they differ in suction, mopping system and price. The Freo Z10 Ultra is currently the strongest all-round solution for homes with hard floors and carpet.

Good to know The Freo Z10 Ultra runs on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. When setting it up, make sure the base receives a 2.4 GHz signal – in pure 5 GHz networks the robot cannot be connected.

18,000 Pa, LiDAR 4.0 & binocular AI

How the Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra works at home – autonomously, thoroughly and app-connected.

18,000 Pa suction

The dynamic turbo suction removes up to 99.43 % of all dust particles according to the manufacturer. The V-shaped DualFlow design feeds hair straight into the dust bin.

LiDAR 4.0 & 3D map

A 360° laser scanner instantly builds a detailed 3D map across up to four levels and plans the most efficient cleaning route from it.

Binocular AI (NarMind™ Pro)

Two 136° cameras and two AI chips (4 TOPS) recognise over 200 object types to 5 mm accuracy – including a safety distance from pets.

All-in-one base

Auto-empty up to 120 days via the 2.5 litre bag, automatic detergent dosing, adaptive mop washing up to 75 °C and hot-air drying.

Everyday use: setup, mopping, edges

Set up in minutes

Place the all-in-one base, fill the clean water tank, connect the robot to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi via the Narwal app and let it map your home. The first run builds a 3D map across up to four levels; afterwards you assign rooms and no-go zones. From unboxing to the first full clean, expect roughly half an hour to an hour.

Vacuum and mop in one pass

The Freo Z10 Ultra decides in real time whether to vacuum or mop: the AI detects wet and dry dirt and adapts its strategy. With 18,000 Pa it picks up crumbs, sand and pet hair while the two rotating mops follow with 8 N of contact pressure. On hard floors it reaches up to 99 % particle pick-up according to the manufacturer, and on carpet it raises the mops by 12 mm and boosts suction by 160 %.

Edges and corners – the EdgeReach advantage

Unlike pure mop rollers, the Reuleaux triangle mop module extends on an arm and mops into 0 mm gaps along walls, skirting boards and furniture feet. EdgeSwing technology maintains contact pressure – the spot where you would otherwise wipe by hand is actively cleaned.

Maintenance: almost automatic

After every run the base empties the robot's bin into a 2.5 litre bag (up to 120 days), doses detergent itself and washes the mops with water up to 75 °C before drying them with hot air. You refill or empty the clean and dirty water tanks (4.5 l / 4.05 l) roughly weekly – there is little else to do.

Noise

When mopping the robot stays below 56 dB and below 59 dB when vacuuming – pleasantly quiet for a robot vacuum with an auto-empty base, so it barely disturbs everyday life.

On pure suction, the MOVA P70 Pro Ultra and Dreame L50s Pro Ultra lead with 30,000 Pa – the strongest vacuums for very pet- and dirt-heavy homes. The Freo Z10 Ultra scores with its mopping system: the extendable Reuleaux mops with EdgeReach clean corners and edges far more actively than classic pad robots, and the all-in-one base washes at up to 75 °C. If you want the cheapest overall package, the ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI from around €350 is the best pick (though with less suction and a mop roller instead of twin pads). The Roborock Qrevo Curv is solid but expensive in comparison. For homes with pets and lots of hard floor, the Freo Z10 Ultra is one of the most balanced options; if you need maximum suction, the MOVA P70 Pro Ultra deserves a place on your shortlist.

Problems, notes & tips from Narwal owners

What we most often encounter in forums and user reports about the Freo Z10 Ultra.

1. 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is essential

The most common setup hurdle: the robot only connects to a 2.4 GHz network. On modern routers using a single SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHz, pairing sometimes fails. Tip: enable a separate 2.4 GHz network on your router and register the robot there.

2. Carpets: mind the mop lift

The mop only lifts 12 mm. On flat rugs and runners this works reliably, but on high-pile or very dense carpet the mop may drag and release moisture. Users recommend excluding such rugs with a no-go zone or starting the mop wash only after carpet cleaning.

3. Fine-tune map accuracy

Automatic mapping is good but keeps some distance at certain edges. You can redraw the map with your finger in the app – especially worthwhile for awkward floor plans so the robot drives right up to the skirting board next time.

4. Detergent and spare parts

The base doses floor detergent automatically but works best with Narwal's own solution. Refills, dust bags and mops are tied to Narwal accessories – factor in these ongoing costs when buying.

5. Live video and privacy

The Freo Z10 Ultra can stream live video from its cameras via the app. If you don't want that, you can disable the feature in the app settings – obstacle detection keeps working.

Tidy up before the first run Very small or thin objects (such as headphone cables or hair ties) are not always reliably detected. A quick sweep before the first run prevents blockages.

Who is the Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra for?

Households with plenty of hard floor, some carpet and above all pets or long hair, looking for a device that reliably combines vacuuming and mopping, actively mops corners and largely takes care of maintenance itself – and who are ready to spend around €550–600.

Our advice Are you looking for a robot vacuum and mop that actively mops corners, reliably picks up hair and handles its own maintenance? Then the Freo Z10 Ultra with its combination of 18,000 Pa, binocular AI and the EdgeReach mop module is a very good choice. If maximum suction is your priority, take a look at the MOVA P70 Pro Ultra; if price matters most, the ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI is the cheaper alternative.
Keep in mind For very large floors of over 200 m² in one pass, or homes with only high-pile carpet, the Freo Z10 Ultra is not the first choice – models with a higher mop lift or clearly more suction are better suited.

FAQ about the Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra

The Freo Z10 Ultra combines very strong 18,000 Pa suction with two rotating Reuleaux mop pads whose EdgeReach extendable arm reaches into 0 mm gaps along edges and corners. Add a binocular AI that recognises over 200 objects and an all-in-one base that empties dust for up to 120 days and washes the mops with water up to 75 °C.
The Freo Z10 Ultra is the newer model: it offers 18,000 Pa instead of 12,000 Pa suction, the current NarMind Pro AI system and the EdgeReach mop module with an extendable arm. The older Freo Z Ultra is largely sold out and delisted by Narwal – buyers today should choose the Freo Z10 Ultra.
The 6,400 mAh battery (72 Wh) lasts around 120 minutes in combined vacuum-and-mop mode and up to 200 minutes when mopping only. That equals roughly 120 m² including mopping, or up to 200 m² when mopping. On larger floors the robot returns to the base by itself, recharges and resumes cleaning.
Yes. The robot detects carpets automatically, raises the mops by 12 mm and increases suction by 160 %. On very high-pile or thick carpets the mop may still drag – it is worth excluding such rugs with a no-go zone in the app.
The SGS-certified DualFlow anti-tangle system guides hair via V-shaped side brushes and a floating main roller into the dust bin. In practice this reduces tangling significantly, though the roller is not entirely maintenance-free – an occasional check is worthwhile.
The base uses a 2.5 litre dust bag that lasts up to 120 days according to Narwal. After that you replace the bag. The clean and dirty water tanks (4.5 l and 4.05 l) are refilled or emptied roughly once a week depending on use.
The Freo Z10 Ultra can be controlled via the Narwal app, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Siri, as well as the built-in HeyNawa voice assistant with over 30 commands. There is no native Matter or HomeKit support.
Narwal states that the robot stays below 56 dB when mopping and below 59 dB when vacuuming – the base is even quieter. That makes it one of the quieter robot vacuums with an auto-empty base.

Our verdict

★★★★★ 4,3/5

The Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra is a very mature robot vacuum and mop for homes with plenty of hard floor, some carpet and pets. Its strengths are the active mopping system with extendable Reuleaux mops and EdgeReach, the strong 18,000 Pa suction and the all-in-one base that handles emptying, washing up to 75 °C and hot-air drying. The SGS-certified anti-tangle system and the binocular AI with over 200 recognised objects make everyday use pleasantly simple. Points of criticism are the comparatively low 12 mm mop lift, the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi limitation and the Narwal-bound accessories. If you can live with that and want corners genuinely clean, you get one of the most interesting robot vacuums in its class for around €550–600.
